Sarah is a single mum of Garth (6) and Selena (8). Sarah was initially diagnosed with cancer in 2006. She is currently receiving chemotherapy. Sarah’s children are in her full time care, she has been required to hire several supportive carers for Garth and Selena. There has been much change within the home due to Sarah’s illness.

Simone is the mother of Mary (11). Recently Simone married her long term partner Tom. Simone has metastatic breast cancer and us currently undergoing chemotherapy. Tom has recently had a car accident and has broken his back. Mary has been increasingly spending time with her estranged father as both her mother and step-father have been regularly hospitalized. Simone is open and honest with Mary about her illness. Mary presents with positivity, her best friend’s mother is also receiving chemotherapy.

Anna is the mother of Emma (10) and Matthew (9). She has previously undergone chemotherapy and fortunately her prognosis is positive. Her marriage is undergoing strain due to the mounting long term pressures of cancer diagnosis. Anna sought support for her children through the MKWF Program as she has felt they are struggling emotionally.
